Gaëtan Byk is a French entrepreneur, creative technologist, and lifelong advocate for the performing arts. Born into the industry and mentored from an early age by his father, Bernard Byk — among the co-founders of the iconic Amadeus brand — Gaëtan was raised at the intersection of sound, innovation, and artistic excellence.
Throughout his upbringing, he was guided and profoundly influenced by legendary artists, engineers, and developers, who helped shape his vision for sound technologies as tools to serve the performing arts and elevate artistic creativity.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master’s in Advertising, Gaëtan launched his first company at age 20, and has since founded and managed nearly ten ventures, all dedicated to the performing arts and sound innovation.
In 2017, he founded HOLOPHONIX in partnership with IRCAM and CNRS, aiming to push the boundaries of spatial audio for live performance, theatre, and immersive environments. Since then, HOLOPHONIX has become a leading benchmark in 3D sound processing, powering daily experiences for thousands of spectators — and millions since its inception.
In 2021 Gaëtan bought Amadeus, a reference in French high-end loudspeaker craftsmanship, after more than a decade working for the company. Building on years of deep involvement in its strategy, design, and creative collaborations, he redefined its trajectory and led its international expansion, with bespoke systems now installed in iconic venues worldwide.
He played a key role in bringing the brand into major cultural landmarks — including national theaters, concert halls, and opera houses — and initiated standout collaborations, most notably by creating the Philharmonia speaker brand in collaboration with Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel. More broadly, he introduced the concept of 'Haute Couture Sound', establishing Amadeus as a house where craftsmanship and technological innovation meet and complement each other.
Guided by a philosophy of human-centered sound design, Gaëtan continues to pioneer immersive audio solutions that blend acoustics, architecture, and emotion — crafting experiences that are as technically advanced as they are artistically profound.
