Hector Teyssier began his studies at McGill University in Montreal, where he majored in computer science and music technology. During this time, he discovered the vast field of immersive audio through an internship at the Society for Arts and Technology's research lab, where he worked on room impulse response interpolation.
After earning his bachelor's degree, he spent a year in the R&D department at Audiokinetic, focusing on real-time acoustic simulation for the video game industry. To further develop his skillset, he pursued a Master’s degree in Sound and Music Computing at Queen Mary University of London.
In January 2025, Hector began a CIFRE Ph.D. program co-supervised by the "Acoustic and Cognitive Spaces" team at IRCAM, the R&D department at Amadeus, and the HOLOPHONIX team. His research focuses on room acoustic simulation, auditory modeling and signal processing, aiming to develop new tools for optimizing immersive loudspeaker systems.
